I've been involved in photography for more than 20 years, mostly with SLR cameras, and in a mix of Black & White and color.

Over the past few years I've switched to almost exclusive digital work and while I still shoot both B&W and color, I now do a great deal of creative work with Photoshop after the image has been captured. For me, when I first capture the image the journey has just begun and I can use the digital medium to maximum effect to produce truly memorable images.

While the main photographic focus (no pun intended) for my early work centered on landscapes and nature, I have spent much of the past year developing a signature style in portraiture, particularly with children.

When photographing children I definitely prefer natural settings and particularly the outdoors where I can take advantage of the terrain and natural lighting. The best images of children are captured when they are at ease with the photographer and no longer in "posing mode" and just doing their thing. Parks, playgrounds, and even their own back yards are great locations to capture kids just being kids.

Some of my most rewarding work comes with working with children's charity groups. The children in foster and state care can be challenging to work with but seeing them find families as a result of photos I've taken is a wonderful feeling.

Please take a few minutes to look over the sample portraits and fine art photos here and if I can be of service for your next party, event, or personal portraits, please drop me a note.
